This section provides a few basic statistics about the country of Mari'im and its people.

Please note that for religious reasons, no complete census of Mari'im has ever taken place. It is a belief of the ulu'aki faith (see the Religion section of this guide) that counting people and treating them as statistical data is to dehumanise and disrespect them.

COMMENTARY: This is indeed a teaching of the ulu'aki religion, but not one that most Mari'im would really follow personally - it's for the truly devout, like monks. TThe Mari'im government could ignore it if it chose - and off the record, it does. The government has considerably better data on its citizens than it publishes.
